Reviews for Superchips 42050 TrailDash2 with Free $50 Quadratec Gift Card for 03-14 Jeep Wrangler TJ, Unlimited, Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK
I like this product as it allows me to keep an eye on the functionality of the jeep. I would like to see a oil pressure monitor added to the system. There are several different layouts and options for you. I give this device a must have.
Really good product... screen is a little slow
Had this bad boy for about a month and it’s definitely something I regret not getting earlier. Having the ability to update your jeeps computer is definitely worth the price tag. After updating the tire size and setting the fuel options, I feel like my Jeep drives a lot healthier if that makes any sense.
I really like this product. I received the programmer and have been extremely happy with it. I was surprised how long it took to first update the product connected to my computer (I'm guessing 45 minutes) then when installing it in the Jeep (probably another hour total) but I am super happy with it. I used a GPS (as I have seen others write) to calibrate my speedo, it was only off about 2 MPH in 50 because of my 32" tires. This is just done by adjusting the tire size in the programmer. After completing that i was amazed how much better the Jeep shifts. With my new tires, before the programmer, it seemed to want to downshift A LOT! I found it very irritating. Now it shifts great. I used the 87 Octane tune and will probably try some better gas next fill up and try the higher performance tune. It's hard to say if I'm feeling any more power and gas mileage may be slightly better (maybe 1 MPG) but it drives much, much better. The display is pretty cool also and you can choose different layouts and what you want displayed from the many parameters read from the PCM. It certainly is not cheap but at this point I think it was money well spent.
I've had the TD2 for just under two years. At first I thought it was pretty cool. But as I used it, I found problems. I emailed their support and for a bit, they would respond pretty fast. In the past six months or so, I email, get no response and after a couple more emails maybe someone responds. And the typical answer is the device doesn't do that. I asked about an error code for a wheel speed sensor issue, it doesn't do that. I've pretty much given up on the device.
Very good product. Cool features and overall easy to use. Worth the money.
I got this to clear out a check engine light code and to monitor the various engine parameters like transmission oil temp, battery charge rate, etc... It works great. The trouble code was easy to get rid of and I do like the gauges feature. I didn't use any of the programs for performance yet but will check them out in the future. If you are just looking to clear engine codes and reprogram for tire/gear changes, the Superchips "Flashcal" does the trick. If you want to see more of what's going on with the engine, the TD-2 is perfect. I did call Superchips for tech assistance, they were great and got me going quickly.
Nice mount, easy install, looks OEM.
Love the tool, the multiple readout pages and the crawl tune are my favorite. only had one hick-up with it when I had my jeep under the 87 octane tune. The hick-up was the transmission got confused in its gear selection under acceleration and the result was my transmission slamming into a gear. found that there was an update for it and updated the software. Have not had any issues since.
Had the TD2 installed in a 2012 JKUR. Was having an issue with the jeep running hot so had the dealer look at it. With the TD2 connected, the cooling fan came on at 157 and off at 175. Would not come on at the normal temp. Even the test gear could not get the fan to work. After the TD2 was uninstalled (factory reset) cooling fan works normal. I really like the display and functionality of the TD2 but can not use it with the fan issue.
