Reviews for Smittybilt Standard Bucket Seat for 76-06 Jeep CJ, Wrangler YJ, TJ & TJ Unlimited
A decent product but not great for a tall long legged individual, in my opinion, The seat bottom length is shorter than expected and pinches one under the thigh in a YJ. I have the same type in a CJ and the bracket seems to hold the seat differently and does not pinch the legs. So, great for a CJ-5, but not for the YJ (95).
Bought for an 88 Wrangler, seats are comfortable had to make mounting brackets from seats to Corbeau sliders & seat mounts
After reading other reviews it seems that ease of installation depends on the model year of your Wrangler. I have a 1999 and it was a pain and quite a bit of work. The main problem is the bolts that were sent do no fit in my TJ. I had to go to the hardware store and buy m8 1.25 bolts that are 25mm long. I found out the size by calling Smittybilt, being put on a waiting/hold list for 15 minutes, and finally having a nice guy tell me he would have to check with someone else on my problem. He came back with the correct bolts needed to finish my installation. Now that they are in, they look great, have a nice firm ride and much better than original seats. For those who complain about being too high, I have to disagree. Mine are a bit higher, but feel okay for my 5'8" height. I suppose if you are a bigger guy, it could pose a problem for you. A bit of work, but they look and feel great. Worth the cost and effort.
of sets were good for the price but the bolt holes were not threaded correctly. I had to tap every hole when I got to the last two, the threaded insert which is supposed to hold the bolt came completely out. Had to use 3/8 bolts and nuts instead of my original bolts from original sets. Big hassle!!
does not fit OEM, had to modify. Looks great but be ready to cut toe bolts out and add your own.
This is a generic seat, but you get what you pay for , it is low price and no tilt.
I bought these on sale over two years ago to replace my stock seats. My Jeep is my daily driver, so the springs in these wore out within the first year. I know they are "cheap seats", but I wish I could have gotten a little more out of them. I am getting ready to get new seats from Quadratec to replace these and I will get better ones this time.
Nice seats so far so good comfortable easy to install, your could let people know it is a metric thread on bolts
These are MUCH thicker than the stock ones. If I wasn't 5'4" and skinny there would be no way I would be able to fit. Literally have maybe an inch between my legs and steering wheel. Guess I'm save if I ever roll over? Wish there was an adjustment. They are not practical for a normal sized man or bigger woman.
4 out of the 8 threaded holes broke free when tightening the screws. Back of seat is to low.
