Reviews for RockNob RN-U-200 WWII Style Pineapple Grenade Shift Knob
I love it! I’ve had it for almost a year now and everybody who drives my Jeep say they love how it feels. The only complaint I have is that it does rattle a bit, BUT I was able to fix that with a bit of super glue (the ring is also the perfect size to fit the “gear indicator” from the OE knob into which also helps with the rattle). Oh, and the little screws that hold the knob to the lever did come loose a couple of times (one time it got so loose that it actually popped off while driving) but I was also able to fix this with just a dab of thread locker on each little screw. Other than those two problems, it has been absolutely great and goes well with my WWII themed Jeep.
This grenade is awesome and is really heavy duty. It fits my hand perfect and looks great in my Jeep. I don’t want to give it a 4 star but when I have my Jeep doors on and the top this thing makes way to much noise for me. It rattles so much I will be buyinga winter knob and using this one just during the summer.
Over all happy with the product. It isn't attached by screwing it on though shifter though, instead it has 3 small screws around the base that tighten to the pole and holds it in place. When you are at higher speeds I have found that the shift knob shakes a lot and loosens the screws and in some cases enough to make it fall off. The firing mechanism(part on top) was loose and would spin around on the grenade so I had to glue it. The firing pin will constantly rattle against the grenade and it got annoying so I glued it in place. If you live in a place that has winter remember that the grenade will be really cold and unpleasant in the colder months. Pretty cool to have a grenade as a shifter though!
Does not work with a 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport 6-speed. It's solid and well built and likely looks great on other vehicles, but there is no way to install it on the '25 JL. The size of the JL shifter is not one of the "common sizes" included in the install kit (the fix is to pad the shifter with electrical tape, so there's that), and a spring on the shifter makes the knob incompatible with the shifter.
