Reviews for Kicker JK-6.5D 6.5” Dash Speaker Upgrade for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I have a 2013 JK that had Alpine speakers with subwoofer. I replaced the head unit with Sony XAV AX 7000 and Quadratec wiring harness.
The stock Alpines began to 'pop' at high volume...I ordered these Kickers. Much better! Highs, and mids are stellar, bass is good...but measurably better than stock.
I highly recommend these and the XAV 7000. Once you've lived with CarPlay or Android Auto you can't live without it!
Nice upgrade
Mine are torn
Better sound and response.
Upgrade replacement
Big improvement over the stock speakers. Installation takes about an hour, and is not difficult. You will find that when putting the new speakers in only two holes line up, so you have to angle the screw a bit. Also I found the t-20 to be a better fit for the screws than the t-15 which the directions suggest. Good value, and excellent sound. When turning the sound up, you don’t get any distortion. Very crisp sound. Hope this review hopes.
Installed both speakers which took about an hour. The driver’s side is more difficult but watch a tutorial on YouTube so you know which screws to remove on the dash and how to maneuver the speaker box out of the dash. Sounds great and better than stock. Great purchase for the price!
Just installed the dash speakers and Quad tweeters. Instructions were good, it is not a hard install, more of a pain in the but install on the drivers side. It probably took about an hour or so to install both. I am running an aftermarket Sony XAV-AX100 stereo. I replaced the soundbar about a year ago with Kickers and did not notice a huge improvement. Tonight I replaced the dash and tweeters and the sound was remarkable better. I am installing a kicker amp soon, which I am sure, will make it sound better yet. Highly recommend replacing all 6 at the same time.
Great sound and very happy with the upgrade. Installation was not simple but not all that difficult either. Would highly recommend the tweeter upgrade while you're doing this one because you'll have all the pertinent dash components apart anyway.
Great sound! Somewhat difficult to install on the drivers side but not the speakers fault. It’s just a difficult area to install. Be sure to add lots of poly fill in these.
