Reviews for Poison Spyder Vented Inner Fender Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Simple installation. Fit is not great. Have to do some bending to close some gaps. Like the look.
I will give it a 4 star as I love the look and think a lot of design went into it. I agree with previous post the install process is very complicated and frustrating. I struggled with the first side where you have to drill holes behind the lower fender bracket. Once you drill the holes and place the fender on it is nearly impossible to get bolts on. Until I got creative. I wish i would have did a video as I could save some others lots of time. First side was a couple hours or so. Did the other side in about an hour after I figured out a process. I was installing these at the same time as the new fenders, so I already had the fender off right before the last time so save me a step and made it easier. Already have lots of looks and people checking them out!
First let me say that once you get them in they are pretty awesome to look at. With that being said getting them installed is a frustrating process. If they had provided two extra nutserts it would have been alot easier to get those rear subframe bracket bolts in. I also didnt appreciate that I had to install the mesh inserts as it was an unnecessary pita. They should have installed the inserts at the factory.
I have it 2 extra stars because it's extra sexy. But this is a 1 star item all day.
I love PS products but this thing is so over complicated to install that it's hot garbage.
It requires complete removal of your fenders or crushed flares if you do it right (I didn't). It uses crusher flare mounting points that are nearly inaccessible once the liner is installed.
There are no predrilled mounting points. You have to drill almost every hole including the 3/4 LED hole required for crushed flares.
This item is significantly overpriced compared to competitors, you are paying wholey for the name and look of the product, not superior performance. The instructions are in B&W and hard to see photos and Poison Spyder hasn't uploaded an install video to YouTube.
