Reviews for Teraflex Falcon SP2 3.3 Fast Adjust Piggyback Shock Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I have a 2016 JKU, 3.5in AEV lift on 37's. I bought these to replace the Bilstein 5100s (had 70K + miles on them) that came with the lift. When driving on the road, I run 2.5 in the front and 2.1 in the rear. This set up limits the font from being too soft and the rear from being too stiff. When weighed down, I ride in setting 3. The daily driving comfort is great.
I recently visited the Outer Banks where I spent the week driving on the 4x4 beach. The beach has a tendency to have washboard sections and waves that would make my front end bounce like a boat. Even in setting 1, these shocks performed much better than my worn out 5100s. Ended up settling with setting 3 on the beach. The ability to adjust on the fly made my time driving on the beach much more enjoyable.
Overall, I am impressed with the performance and comfort of these shocks. They are not cheep but they perform very well.
Great performance. Worth the cost.
They are adjustable. Options are good
Purchased these shocks with hopes of gaining some stability for my 3.5" lifted 2017 JKU running on 35's. The maiden voyage after installation can only be described as "WOW"!! Body roll, and head bobble at higher speeds all but eliminated.. Off road, air tires down, Flip the selector valve knob, and she floats like a butterfly! The ability to adjust them to my Jeeps needs/terrain conditions is a huge plus!
Very happy with this modification! I was not compensated by Dennis Wood or Terraflex for this review!
greatest shocks ever
These shocks are terrific. Every setting has a purpose. #1 for long trips on the freeway. #3 for the trails and off-roading. And for everyday use, you will likely choose a setting from between 2.1 and 2.4 . If you play in the mud and also use skid plates for the shocks, the mud will gunk up between the skid and the shock. You will definitely need a pressure washer to get it cleaned out. Using a sprinkler to clean underneath will not be enough to break it down.
I have only found two models of front inner fenders that work with these shocks. So be prepared to have to remove whatever you have. I ordered the JRC inner fenders but they will likely take a little time to get them. I have been waiting a month now.
Overall, I love these. And you will to.
Best shocks i have ever had. Installed them about 2 months ago and find them very easy to use and the ride to have gotten so much better. Handling has improved along with ride. Takes a little patience to fine the right setting for you but its worth it.
Best shocks I have ever had they are solid and a must have for anyone who has a Wrangler. The adjustments are noticeable at every level and the street setting are perfect for the highway. I would highly recommend them for anyone who is looking quality upgrade for your jeep. I would recommend that you have help when you install them if you don't have a lift because they are solid and hard to compress and install alone but I did get it done alone but it wasn't fun.....
For anyone considering purchasing the Falcon 3.3 Shocks, I simply have one piece of advice, DO IT! They will not disappoint. I have the AEV Dualsport 2.5 lift installed on my JK Unlimited for around 6 months now but something wasn’t quite right with the ride. That is where the Falcon 3.3’s come in. This is how a kit is supposed to ride out of the box. By far the best riding shock I have ever had the opportunity to install and ride on. They perform both on road and off so even your mall crawler will thank you when you run over the speed bumps trying to beat the Prius to get that elusive first row parking spot at the next big sale at the local mall. I tried them on settings 1 and 3 first that are pre-set from Falcon and it was an immediate improvement over the Bilsteins that I was used to riding on but I wanted more control. The 2nd setting that allows you to dial in even more is where I found myself making the most improvements to ride quality. Even making a single adjustment on the dial is noticeable on and off road. My perfect setting is with the selector switch in the 2nd position and the dial in the 5th position and it’s like riding on pillows going down the road. I would dare to compare it to many of the luxury brands out there and dare say that it will ride better. I truly believe that these shocks should come with EVERY lift kit on the market as a standard option. You guys nailed it and I would give it 7 out of 5 stars.
Excellent adjustability and look great!
