Reviews for Bestop Trektop NX Glide Twill Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
Excellent top but needs some aftermarket magic for window storage. First the good. This is an amazing looking top. It did take me the full 4 hours to install even though the instructions were well written and the whole thing looked pretty simple. Great construction, fit and finish. MUCH easier to slide the windows in than to wrestle with the old zippers. Most difficult part of the initial install was getting the back window in. This top is TIGHT when new (even after letting it warm in the sun for a while). The only issue I have now is what to do with the windows when the top is down. There are currently NO storage options for them. The construction includes a C-channel along one side with a L-channel down the perpendicular side which means you can't roll them into the ubiquitous storage options for zipper-style windows. And the windows are big so it's going to be difficult to lay them flat (especially if you've left your back seat in). Not sure how Bestop is going to address this in the future. If you're like me and need to take you windows along with you, you'll need to think about how you're going to store and protect them.
Install was straightforward but looks like Bestop has omitted the zippered headliner pockets to increase their profits. Quadratec’s site for the 2-door too clearly says the top has zippered pockets so I’m guessing the change is fairly recent and Q hasn’t had a chance to update their description yet.
The top looks great and seems to be heavy duty. One thing to note is that you cannot roll up the windows like a traditional zippered soft top. This makes it difficult to travel with.
Very nice Bestop brand but I'm not a fan with the NX glide. Sure it's easy to remove and install but I like my back window roll up and easy zipped down. You can't do that with this one. It's in or out and clumsy when out cause you can't roll it up. The slides on the edges make it ridgid so I have nowhere to put it if someone is sitting in the back seat.
Love the no zipper idea, but being unable to roll up and easily transport the windows is a deal breaker.
