I was skeptical at first if this could actually work in place of the factory antenna and it has exceeded my expectations. I have had the antenna on my Jeep for over a month and noticed an improvement in reception from the factory antenna. I live about 45 miles west of NYC and I can received stations without an issue. Some of the stations broadcast in HD and I can pick them up closer to where I live then before. I would definitely recommend this antenna if you are looking to get rid of the big factory whip.

If I could give this product 10 stars, I would. Installation was a breeze. 3/8 wrench takes the OEM antenna off and a 7/16 wrench installs the new antenna - 3 minutes tops. Test drove jeep tuned to a radio station that topically went in/out with OEM antenna and I can report a huge improvement - no signal loss!! Don't forget the appearance factor is 150% better over OEM, leaving 1-2 inches viewable in the corner of the windshield (compared to that ugly OEM antenna).
