Reviews for Tuffy 345-01 Security Deck Enclosure for 18-26 Jeep Wrangler JL
I bought this some time ago (before the other reviews) with anticipation to install when the hard top came off, and the soft top went on (I've just done that). I agree with the other reviewers. It does gives me some security, but that's about all I'll say. The rubber that goes on the rear lid lip pulls off if you don't grab the lid right to pull open. The couple of times I've had to remove the lid completely, the rubber also tends to start to come off on the front side of the lip as well. With the lid locked into place, it's fairly sturdy. With the lid propped up or off, the rear sides are very flexible, when lid is off for tall cargo the rear sides rattle when I go down the road. Installing the lid back on, the entire set up moves a bit making it a bit challenging to reinstall the lid. There needs to be more reinforcement. when you go to lock the lid down, you have to wiggle the sides/lid to snap into place. For the money, this should all work better. I did install the tailgate and console box which I really like. Come on Tuffy, we need a better rear cargo setup.
Agree with everyone else’s post and add that the lid has a lip on the underside that not just scratched but took off about a quarter inch of paint/material from the ‘cupholder’ Portion of my tailgate and that the bar that is supposed to hold the lid open is not compatible with my soft top. Extremely dissatisfied with this product.
From the looks of how it installs on the floor, you can't have the Trail Rail System either because you won't be able to slide the cargo hooks or cargo bar up and down as intended.
