If you are changing out your Jeeps steering linkage due to a bad bend from trail abuse or worn out ends, the Crown Automotive Tie Rod Kit will get you fixed up fast. This kit is complete with both tie rod ends, adjuster sleeve, clamp and steering stabilizer bracket. No need to reuse old parts with this Crown replacement, it simply installs new from knuckle to knuckle for a no-hassle garage installation.

When adjusting length, one end (PS) of tie rod is already pressed shut, while the opposite end (DS) is open. Is DS end supposed to be clamped tight before you screw in the DS socket? Or do you just slide in DS to correct length and then tighten clamp down to lock it. (It appears threaded, but threads don’t connect due to wide spacing between pieces.)

Are the ends removable so I can replace with serviceable ends?
Like the original tie rod, only the left end is removable at the adjuster. The right side is part of the tube.
