RealTruck Go Rhino Frame Mount Sliders Reviews
Not too hard to put on. Did it with my 5 year old in the driveway and took under 2 hours. As the previous reviewer stated I also didn’t drill I don’t see the need as the frame mount brackets are L shaped and any pressure would be braced against the frame.
The good:
Frame mounts are solid! 1/4” thick steel. Also between the frame mount sections (weakest points of the sliders) are 1/4” thick plate steel gussets connecting the upper and lower tubing for added support. That’s a really nice addition you can’t see in the pics. I really like the look. They run the whole pinch seam and will protect from sliding over rocks.
The bad(ish):
Powder coat was a little weak at the grilled section where it welds to the tubing. It looks like they didn’t hit it well enough. The tubing is hot rolled steel not DOM. It is about .065 thick so definitely more thin than .120 DOM tubing other sliders use. There was a little rust dust and I believe it was from the holes drilled into the tubing for moisture escape. That’s pretty standard I believe but it was there. As stated above the passenger side does stick out a little more than the driver side. Not the end of the world for me but you can tell.
Overall I believe these will protect my body from rocks but I won’t be bouncing off rocks and expecting no damage to the sliders themselves. I do plan to use them and plan to use them for pivoting if needed so they will be tested. I also spoke with someone at go rhino and was told these have a 1 year warranty even though the instructions say 5 year. Go rhino also confirmed these are for rock slider use not just for aesthetics. I think with the thinner non dom tubing these could end up bending however with the gussets in important spots and the thickness of the frame mounts and gussets I believe they will protect my rig. I was able to get these on discount from Quadratec for about $550 shipped and I’d say that’s a dang good deal.
Let me start by saying that I really do love these sliders. They are much heavier and thicker than the manufacturer image leads you to believe. They were 92 pounds shipped.... I have two problems. The first is that the passenger side sticks out 1inch farther from the body than the drivers side after installation. I ordered these because the manufacturer image makes it look like it would sit flush (very close) to the body of the Jeep. The drivers side looks great.... the passenger side is not flush. While disappointed, I'll live with the difference... I mean you can't see both sides at the same time right? The second issue I have is that the Go Rhino emblem is upside down. Unless the Jeep is upside down, then it's OK. . But you know what... it's upside down on both sides, so it's consistent. I can live without the emblem, so we're just going to drill out the rivets and remove them. Not sure Go Rhino would be happy about that, but maybe next time the person that puts it on will realize they're not putting it on a step. I still love them. And would recommend them as long as Go Rhino fixes the issues. See red Jeep pictures for reference.
