Go Rhino RB20 Running Boards Reviews
I like the boards and am pleased with the looks on the vehicle.
There are a few things I would add so others considering these have a heads up.
1 There are no instructions included
2 Fat end of the boards goes towards front.
Tapered more slender end towards tear.
Use first three mounting locations starting at the front.
Very rear factory mount location is not used.
Will most likely fab up a rear bracket when time allows.
3 They only mount with three brackets per side unlike the factory design which mounts at 4 locations.
4 The included bolts/fasteners for the running board brackets where they attach at the verticle pinch weld of the rocker panel are fairly small. Only 1/4 ×20 bolts. Although the factory uses M6 metric studs welded to the rock sliders. They are all as one and don't move as much as the individual running board bracket that are used for the Rhino RB20 boards.
The provided bolts for the vertical threaded hole in floor location are fine but have individual washer as opposed to the factory bolts which have an attached washer at the head of the bolt. I re-used the original factory bolts at floor mount instead.
And then I made a trip to the hardware store and bought (20) M10 x1.5 25mm bolts, lock washers, and flats washer all in stainless so as not to rust. This larger bolt size centers much better in the factory holes and only required chasing the holes in the provided Rhino RB20 running board brackets with a 25/64th drill bit. This resulted in a nicely centered bracket without the sloppiness that the smaller 1/4" x 20 bolts allowed. And the M10 x 1.5 bolts are stronger.
When you unpack all the fasteners and profit them into the included brackets you'll see what I mean about the sloppiness.
Other than this I think they are a fair value.
Would have given 5 stars if better hardware and a forth bracket for rearmost location was provided.
Easy to install, I got the bed liner coating to help with the harsh winters here in PA. The only downside is they only provide 3 brackets for mounting instead of 4 as I feel they should come with. The extra length of the JT should warrant the additional bracket for added strength.
