The 392 and 4xe models utilize a heavy-duty braking system that includes different rear calipers (often shared with the Gladiator JT platform). This change affects the mounting orientation and the required fittings at the caliper side, which standard JL brake hoses do not account for.
Why They Don't Fit
Rear Caliper Differences: The 392 and 4xe use larger, heavy-duty rear calipers. The banjo bolts and mounting angles are different from the standard Sport, Sahara, or Rubicon JL models.
Brake Line Routing: Because of the unique frame-side connections and high-performance nature of the 392, specialty kits are engineered specifically for the 392/4xe/XR rear brake package.
