This is a must have item if you have e lockers on your jeep. if the sensor fails, you could be stuck out on a trail. pop this in, and it bypasses the faulty sensor and will have you locked and ready to roll! Buy one for each axle that has an e locker and keep in glove box for when it happens or install now and never have to worry! thank me later!
Questions
This bypass harness works by simulating the signals from a functioning sensor to the Jeep's computer. This allows the computer to believe the lockers are operating correctly, even if the actual sensor is malfunctioning.
However, this harness does NOT change the factory limitations on when the lockers can be engaged. From the factory, the electronic lockers on the Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon and Gladiator JT Rubicon are typically only enabled in 4Lo (4-Low).
Therefore, installing this bypass harness will NOT allow you to lock your lockers in 4Hi or 2Hi. It will only allow the lockers to function in the modes they were originally intended to work in, even with a faulty sensor.
Think of it this way: The harness fixes the communication issue caused by a bad sensor, but it doesn't reprogram the vehicle's software to allow locker engagement in different drive modes.
If you are looking to enable your lockers in 4Hi or 2Hi, you would need a different type of modification, such as an aftermarket locker control system or a programming change using a device like the Z Automotive Tazer JL/JT. These types of modifications actively override the factory locking logic.
