Stupidly easy to install. Slight overdrive aka smaller pulley but works with stock tensioning system. Mine went from 14.7v stock to 14.5v with this alternator

Does this alternator require an upgrade to the factory jeep charging cable on a 2017 JKU?
No. This is compatible with the factory harness.
