Does this have an adhesive strip on it? Is adhesive needed?
The Mopar Windshield Header Weatherstrip does not come with a pre-applied adhesive strip, nor is traditional "liquid" adhesive usually required for a standard installation on JL and JT models. Instead of adhesive, this seal relies on mechanical fasteners and a precision fit to stay in place.
Mechanical Fasteners: The seal is primarily held in place by plastic rivets or screws (Mopar part #06036678AA), which are sold separately if new ones are needed. These plug into the factory holes along the top of your windshield frame.
Precision Press-Fit: The rubber is molded to fit the contours of the Jeep's header. When you tighten the hardtop latches or softtop header, the compression itself helps create the watertight seal.
Adhesive Needs: While not required by the factory, some owners choose to use a small amount of 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive (often called "Super Weatherstrip Adhesive" or "Yellow Snot") in the corners or "elbows" of the seal if they notice persistent wind noise or minor leaks.

Does this part come with the 4 rivets that are needed

What does this do and is iy mounted

This is a replacement for the seal that is located on top of the windshield frame. It seals the area between the soft/hard top and the frame.
