Questions

1. If you have Morimoto XB Tail Lights
If you have already upgraded your main tail lights to Morimoto XBs:
The Connection: Look at the back of the Morimoto taillight housing. There is a specific, small 2-pin connector (pigtail) labeled for the "Backup Light Boost."
The Process: You simply plug the Boost Bar’s connector directly into that pigtail. The tail light housing handles the power and trigger for you.
2. If you have Factory (OEM) Tail Lights
If you are still running the stock Jeep tail lights, the bar is not truly plug-and-play. You will need to use the Universal Power Tap Kit included in the box.
The Connection: You will tap into the factory reverse light power wire behind one of your tail lights.
The Wiring: * White Wire (Boost Bar): Taps into the Reverse (+) wire.
Black Wire (Boost Bar): Taps into the Ground (-) wire or a chassis bolt.
Specific to 2018–2024 (JL/JT): On newer Jeeps with LED packages or Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), you'll want to be careful to tap the specific reverse trigger wire (usually the center pin on the main harness) to avoid throwing a "bulb out" code on the dash.
3. Physical Mounting
Location: It bolts to the top two holes of your license plate frame.
Routing: On the newer Jeeps (especially the JL/JT), you usually have to drill a small 1/4" hole behind the license plate or route the wire through the existing bumper gaps to get it behind the body panel and up to the tail light cavity.
