Oracle Lighting Pre-Runner Style LED Grill Light Kit for 24-26 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT

BUYER BEWARE - Once installed, these look great. They clip into the grill very easily and are clearly well made. The 2 star review is because Oracle provides zero instructions on how to install, and they are NOT plug in play like advertised.

The four lights provided by Oracle do plug very easily into the main wiring harness that Oracle provides to you; however, you have to connect that main wiring harness to your vehicle. So, how does one do that exactly? There are no instructions in the box or on the Oracle or Quadratec site, so unless you have the auxiliary switches in your Wrangler, you are on your own.

My Wrangler (like many others) does not have the auxiliary switches, so I went to the internet. Unfortunately, there are no videos (at least not yet) for this set of lights. After viewing several other videos for similar lights, I learned that you have to connect these to either your fuse box or to the headlamp.

To do so, you have to remove the grill (I only removed the top of the grill and pulled it back to access my headlamps). I then removed the passenger side headlamp and disconnected it so that I could access the wires going into the headlamp. The headlamps wires are connected to an adapter that easy to remove. I then tried to figure out which of the four wires going into the headlamp was the day time running lamp (since those lights are always on, and I want my pre-runner lights on all of the time). I Googled it and got multiple different responses, so it was a crapshoot.

Oracle provides a T Tap (which is an electrical connector used to join a new wire into an existing, uninterrupted wire without cutting or stripping it). I attempted to pinch that T Tap onto the wire that I thought was the day time running light going into the headlamp. The T Tap crumbled immediately, so that was now garbage. There was only one T Tap provided, so I cut the wire and spliced the pre-runner wire to the day time running light. That worked; however, I chose the wrong wire, so it was connected to my headlamps (meaning pre-runner lights only went on when I put my headlamps on). I then took that apart and spliced the pre-runner wire into another wire going into the headlamp (which, again, was the wrong wire). My third attempt was the correct wire. So, I then properly spliced all wires back together with the pre-runner wire spliced correctly to the day time running light wire, fully covered them all with electrical tape and reinstalled the headlamp. I then reinstalled the grill (which is easy to take off and put back on - just watch a video on Google).

So, to be clear, these things look great and snap easily into the grill; however, there are no instructions whatsoever, so you are guessing witch each step. The main wiring harness is NOT plug and play, so you will have to connect to auxiliary switches or splice into headlamp wires, which means you definitely have to be handy to install these; otherwise, bring to a shop to have installed.
