Poison Spyder's SpyderShell™ finish is more than just powder coating—it's a complete system that includes the state of the art in preparation, application, materials and packaging to ensure that your SpyderShell™ products stay looking great for years. The SpyderShell™ process has been engineered to provide your Poison Spyder product with years of unmatched great looks, corrosion protection and weather-resistance. Our proprietary 6-stage system starts with media blasting the entire part, to remove contaminents and prep the metal surface for the best possible adhesion. Next, any seams are sealed with 3M Scotch-Weld to block moisture from entering and causing corrosion where the powder can not reach. The first coat to be applied is a zinc-rich powdered black primer, which is baked on to form an impenetrable bond between the metal product and the coating. The primer is black--rather than traditional gray--so that any rock chips or trail damage are less conspicuous. The final top coat is an industrial grade, "super-durable" architectural finish in semi-gloss black, which is engineered to retain its appearance through years of exposure to sun and weather. SpyderShell is a coating process unmatched by any other Jeep armor aftermarket manufacturer, for which we are confident in offering a 5-year warranty on materials and workmanship.
Heavy Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs
The high clearance, heavy duty recovery shackle tabs are CNC machined from 1" thick plate steel to provide a secure attachment point for 3/4" recovery shackles. Like the stinger, these tabs are specifically engineered to match the angles of the BFH™ bumper to result in zero loss in approach angle.

Poison Spyder BFH II Brawler Front Bumper with Brawler Bar & Shackle Tabs Reviews
Alright.
Packaging - Superior. All hardware included. The Vac pump mount kit is included.
Welds - Solid. Flawless. Next to zero spatter on the inside tube. Detail is great.
Coating - excellent. No mars or missing areas. Actually spent some time looking for defects because craftsmanship usually suffers in high volume mfr. I stand corrected with Poison Spyder.
Instruction - Online and included. Color pics online are the same as the sheet. Super easy. Straight forward.
Install: I found it easier to remove the crash bar first. Short cut the frame gussets with a disc and pop them off with a crow bar. Grind it all flat. Prime and paint. I would suggest dropping the away bar, assembling the vac pump and bracket, the cut your gussets and frame, prime, paint, then mount the pump and sway bar. It didn't make sense to me to spray spark and debris all over the harness and pump parts.
After fitting and drilling, I realized I should have greased the frame for the final assault. Would have been easy to slide it on. Anyway a few bumps to square it up, drill, and bolt it on was easy. No grinding, or removal of any internal diameter needed to fit. Priceless. Torqued to spec.
Instant gratification. Now for the back, and the rockers! More pictures later. Missing the cut and grind. It got dark and finishing became more important than documenting something the mfr shows in the instructions. The instructions cover this part very well.
Looks great and the fitment is perfect. Cutting the frame was a lot more difficult than youtube videos show and took the most time. I ended up using fire and rescue sawsall blade and things moved a lot better.
I love this bumper. It looks great and is rock solid!
Installation was a bit tricky. Even after grinding the frame rails smooth, sliding the last 1 1/2" into place was just impossible. Upon checking where it was hanging up I noticed inside the bumper there are pockets that guide it into place. At the end are flat grommets welded inside at the bottom bolt hole. Since I couldn't fit my angle grinder in there I used a Dremel with a conical grinder tip to reduce the height of the grommet. If you need go this route don't over do it. Take a little off at a time and test fit. This grommet is designed to created a very snug fit. I got it to where I could slide it within 3/4" then used a rubber mallet to drive it home. Before I went to town with the mallet, so as to protect the powder coat, I covered the impact area with masking tape and a bath towel. Overall with the frame cuts and tweaks it took me 2 hours and 20 min for the install.
Very pleased!
