Quake LED 39" Interior Light Bar Reviews
Great light (see photo), only issue was the install. I have a 2 door JK and the wiring harness and switch didn’t work with the interior lights. So I wasn’t able to have the light come on with the doors and or also switch operation separately (as advertised). It looked as if the momentary switch was wired from factory incorrectly and investigating it (multimeter etc) it didn’t function with the harness setup. Additionally the harness didn’t connect properly to the cigarette lighter wires with the crimping method that came with it.
So I cut all the wires off, bought a new switch and rigged up my own electrical wires into the cigarette lighter wires. This was better anyway as I really only needed the light at the back when the door is open and I turn it on.
Overall a good light but yea the install was a pain and didn’t work as advertised.
I ordered two of these light bars, one for myself and one s a Christmas gift for my daughter. We both own Jeep Wrangler JKs, mine is a four door Sahara hers is a two door Rubicon. The install in my four door was a tad more challenging than it should have been the biggest issue was the mixing of the Jeep JK and JL instructions in the same set of directions.
The install in the two door Rubicon was a nightmare of epic proportions. First off there is no 12V outlet in the back of a two door. The instructions are oblivious to this and offer no hints as to how to power the light.
I had to drop the sound bar from the roll cage, spend half an hour with the extremely helpful parts manager who provided me with an accurate pin out diagram for the 11 wires the the sound bar is powered by. And dig into my rather extensive selection of low voltage wiring taps and splices and so rather creative red neck engineering manages to run new wires from the sound bar plug to the rt rear roll cage mount and complete the install. It took me the better part of two days.
