Description
The Rough Country Classic Full Width Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier allows you to carry up to a 37in spare tire on your Jeep Wrangler YJ or TJ. This 100% bolt on bumper is made from high tensile 5/32in thick steel, and coated in a durable textured black finish. Rough Country includes a pair of heavy-duty D-rings with this bumper that easily attach to welded clevises as a recovery point. The Classic Full Width Rear Bumper features an integrated 2” hitch receiver.

Pretty damn good bumper! Took about 3 hours to install everything. Ended up having to weld the lower brackets to the frame, as the old bolts were stripped and stuck in the threads.

Missing hardware; 4 lock nuts, and 6 lock washers. Saw another post that said the same thing. Know that you may have to make a hardware run.

bottom bolts are internal to frame and they just spin, so I just welded the tabs on bottom.
Dropping the tank a bit, helps to access the bolts better.

Questions

I see the integrated hitch is not rated for towing but recovery only - please define this. is the manufacturer saying you could not (for instance) add a rear e-bike or even single dirt bike carrier? The bumper has d-ring points for recovery, so what exactly is the hitch point for with regards to "recovery"? Thank you.
"Recovery only" refers to the hitch being used as a tow point, because of the design, the hitch cannot be used to drag a trailer. This would accept accessories like a bike rack or cargo basket.
Can I bolt a class 3 trailer hitch receiver (Reese Part #75193) to this bumper?
No, they would interfere with each other.
Can the bumper be used as a receiver for towing?
No. The integrated hitch is designed for recovery purposes only and is not rated for towing.
