I saw a review that said it will not install without Trail Rail system. My Gladiator does not have the Trail Rail system & it worked perfectly. The instructions are not great, but there are very few steps & easy to figure out. I have molle panels on the inside of my bed rails, & I anticipated issues...but they were few. I had to cut off about 1/2 an inch of brackets on both sides...no big deal. Fits perfectly, is quiet, and looks great. Also, had to take it out to load a dirt bike...took 30 seconds. I saw a guy driving with a tri-fold cover, with a table in the bed. No way he could see out the rear view mirror with that cover. The hard rolling cover is almost totally out of view, even when rolled open.

Questions

So which is it? You have to have the trail rail system or not? Some people say yes, some say no, the video says no. This is very confusing for such an expensive item and lowers my confidence in buying this and having the headache of returning it.
Rugged Ridge states the trail rail cargo management system is required for install. Thanks for your inquiry.
Can this tonneau be used in conjunction with an over the bed crossbar bike rack?
It will depend on how the rack will attach to your bed. I would think that most in the market will require access to inside the bed sides, which would interfere with tonneau covers. Thanks for your inquiry.
Does this still work without the trail rail system?
No, the Trail Rail System is required for this to install.
