Bought these as well as entry guards for a Jl and weather turned colder before I got installed, temp is 55 day and 35 nights. Can I still install mabe heat tape and medal with hair dryer

How does the automative grade tape hold up compared to similar products that slide up into the top of the window sills. Worried about these being knocked off or loosened in a car wash or constant wind while going down the road. Anybody had these long enough to say they really last?
If the surface is cleaned and prepped per the instructions the adhesive will hold up to regular road driving conditions just fine. There is potential for damage if subjected to automatic car wash systems.
