TACTIK Circle 8 Classic Wheel 17x9 with 4.75in Backspace Reviews
Simple and functional, they even have good look
Bought them for my jk, like the fact of steel vs the rims they put on jeeps nowadays. Especially when I’m off road if you bend them usually, can beat them back so they hold air.
Clean look. Great value.
Questions

The TACTIK Circle 8 Classic Wheel (17x9) is actually a perfect choice for this setup. Because these wheels have 4.75 inches of backspacing, they push the tire outward further than the factory wheels (which have about 6 inches of backspacing). This extra clearance is exactly what you need to prevent the wider 33-inch tires from rubbing against your sway bar or frame during full-lock turns.

Why they might not fit your 2023 Gladiator
The issue isn't typically with the wheel itself, but rather the rear axle hub on newer Gladiators.
Hub Protrusion: On many Gladiator models (especially those with the Max Tow package or specific Dana 44 rear axles), the rear axle hub sticks out further than the depth allowed by the standard push-through center caps included with steel wheels.
Cap Interference: If the center cap is too shallow, the axle hub will hit the inside of the cap, preventing it from seating flush against the wheel. This is why the Quadratec site likely flags them as "not fitting" for your specific trim.
Do you have to run "Open Centers"?
Not necessarily. While running open centers is a common "off-road look" for steelies, you have a few alternatives:
Extended/Tall Center Caps: Look for "tall" or "high-profile" 5x5 bolt pattern center caps. Some aftermarket brands like Mammoth offer caps specifically designed to accommodate the deeper Gladiator hubs.
Axle Hub Painting: Many owners choose to run without caps but paint the exposed rusty axle hubs with a high-temp satin black paint to make the "open center" look much cleaner.
Trim-Specific Verification: If your Rubicon does not have the wide-track axles found on some other trims, the standard caps might actually clear, but it is a tight fit. Quadratec's warning is usually a safeguard against the common "hub-poke" issue.
Technical Tip: Since these are steel wheels with a 4.75-inch backspace, they will push your tires out roughly 1.25 inches further than stock. This is great for clearance with larger tires, but it also makes the exposed hub more visible if you do decide to go with open centers!
