Description
MOLLE bags are great for storing trail gear, tools & other things you might need when heading out in your Wrangler JL. The problem is with more gear comes more bags and less areas to hang them on. This is where the the Tailgate Lockbox MOLLE Storage System comes up in a huge way. This lock box gives you an extra secure storage space plus another spot to mount your MOLLE bags on as well. Another great feature of this lock box is once it is folded down you can use it as a table that supports up to 40lbs while you sort through your gear or make a meal while taking a break from the trails.

Bottom holes had to be drilled, off just enough not to line up. Back panel needs stiffer steel or a rib, flexes. Locking bars need plastic inserts, rattles.

The level of incompetence in the design of this product is staggering. I have had a similar Tuffy tailgate box in a previous Jeep and with enough tape I was able to stop the rattling; no amount of tape will fix it in this one; it’s unusable. It would be fine mounted to a wall but in a moving vehicle it’s intolerable.

Tuffy gets knocked for bad quality, but I have never had quality issues. I think when people talk about Tuffy quality, they mean Tuffy design, which is generally mediocre to bad. The design on this one is just plain horrible.

Can the open box act as a shelf and if so, how many pounds can it hold as a shelf? Thanks!
