Is the black stainless a gloss finish or more of a matte? Also, if not the right black, can it be painted over or do i need to order a different set since stainless takes paint differently? Thanks
The black stainless finish features a textured, semi-gloss/powder-coated look rather than a flat matte. While stainless steel has a smooth surface that can make standard paint adhesion difficult without proper prep, these brackets come pre-finished in a durable black powder coat. If you prefer a different shade, you would need to thoroughly scuff, clean, and use a self-etching primer designed for stainless/metal surfaces to ensure proper paint adherence.
