Bedrug Premium Carpeted Floor Covering Kit with Cutouts Reviews
I have a 2006 Wrangler Unlimited, and when I bought it someone had removed the factory carpeting and applied a spray-in bed liner. So this is a perfect solution for replacing the missing carpet. The fit is very good, I like the color (matches well with my black Jeep w/ black & grey interior), and installation was pretty easy. Yes, you do have to unbolt the center console in order for the install to go more smoothly, but if you're installing it yourself & have reasonably proficient hands-on technical skills, it's no big deal. Definitely "dry" fit all of the pieces first, so you can see where you will need to make cuts and/or trim. In my case, I sanded down the sprayed-in bed liner & thoroughly cleaned w/ isopropyl alcohol in the areas where the hook & loop strips need to adhere. The completed installation really does look good. The material may be polypropylene (plastic), but the carpet pile looks & feels good and is far more resistant to mold and mildew than the factory carpet. Price isn't exactly cheap, but the pieces are molded for an exact fit, so I am happy with that.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend. This looks great installed but it is not carpet. It is a plastic sheet with fuzzy stuff on it to resemble carpet. I can see it is more durable than nylon carpet and I believe it will last. There is some cutting involved but mostly it is about making slits for the existing tiedowns on the floor. One reviewer suggests buying more velcro but the hitch is Bed Rug stitches the velcro to the covering. It is not clear to me how well the pressure sensitive adhesive will stick to the covering. Also the center counsel does install over the covering so removal is not a simple as lifting it out.
Just installed; I took my time and it only took about 3 hours which included derigging wind panel, taking back tonneau off, removing bimini and taking out old carpet. Nice product for the price. I also had to reinstall hold down plate for wind panel. Quality looks good. Recommend!!
