Energy Suspension Engine Mounts for 87-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ & TJ with 4.0L

Don't waste your time and money with these. Rated one star because negative stars aren't an option. The kit doesn't come with the mounting plate that goes underneath the bushing; you have to hack up your existing motor mounts. Not a big deal? It took me over 2 hours with a hacksaw and a bench grinder to remove the rubber from ONE. Then I discovered the second surprise hidden under all that rubber: my mounts aren't the original Jeep mounts, so these bushings WILL NOT fit. The solution according to the company's rep: go spend $50-$80 on Jeep motor mounts, (hope you've got an extra set of wheels to get there) grind all the rubber off those, and pray that the bushings will fit once the mounts you just bought are no longer returnable.

I called the company that makes these; their argumentative rep acknowledged that people contact them all the time about this issue. In spite of this, they don't make any effort to fix it, provide a steel plate that will fit, or even provide a warning that their bushings won't fit unless you're replacing Jeep mounts. Despite admitting consistent feedback to the contrary, the rep insisted that I'm wrong for being dissatisfied, and that this is a "great product".

Bottom line: these things are more work than they're worth, and it's risky even trying to install them. You could be hours into what should be a 1-hour job, with your rig's engine on a jack, only to discover that your rig isn't going anywhere until you buy a different set of mounts. In my case, I'm stuck shuttling my wife to work until I can get some mounts that aren't made by indifferent clowns. DON'T DO IT.
