Is this a standard part on JKU's or is this an add on part to improve perfomance?
Factory Addition (With a Catch): The Mopar 68143895AA Auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler is a factory Mopar part, but it was not standard equipment on all Wrangler JK/JKU models.
Towing Package Inclusion: It typically came factory-installed only on Wranglers equipped with the Trailer Tow Group package (which increased the towing capacity to 3,500 lbs).
Performance/Addition Status: If your specific JKU rolled off the assembly line without the factory tow package, it did not come with this auxiliary cooler. Adding it later serves as a direct OEM upgrade to improve transmission cooling performance, especially if you are towing, running larger tires, or off-roading in hot climates.

Does this cooler, replace the factory cooler or is it in addition to the factory to increase cooling capacity for the transmission?
This is a replacement for the auxiliary trans cooler that is on the automatic transmission vehicles.

Does the tranny cooler also require the hose connection kit? Can't tell from the item description and don't see where to view install instructions.
This is just the Transmission Cooler, the lines are 55111005AE and 68143893aa. Instructions are not available as they are covered only in factory service manuals.
