Description
Jeeps CJ and Wrangler style vehicles have never had fuel doors, and with that originality comes the unfortunate chance that someone may tamper with your fuel. The Mopar Locking Fuel Tank Cap is an added layer of protection for your JK Wrangler, so someone cannot just come along and spin your cap off. When the cylinder is disengaged the cap just spins freely. Insert the ignition key into the cap, grip the cap firmly and turn the key. Now that your cap is engaged you can fill your tank. The cylinder for this cap does not come coded to your key, so you will have to take this to a professional to have keyed.

Warning: Lock does not come pre-keyed, and must be manually fit to your vehicle's key. This process takes extensive trial and error. If the lock is not keyed correctly, the fuel cap cannot be removed from your Jeep. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND taking this to your local Jeep dealership or locksmith for installation. Keys and tumblers (wafers) are not included and will need to be purchased locally.

Great product. Had it keyed at same time as hood lock at a discount. 5 years and no issues.

Very convenient to not need an extra key. Works perfectly, and like the additional security and the cap tether. Locksmith charged $28 to set it to my ignition key.

This cap seems fine. Replaced a cap that I had on for about four years, because check engine light kept coming on.

Will this install on a 2005 TJ?
No, It will not accept the key type for coding
What about the seal? I can't stand having the sensor on my dash always on due to the seal on the gas cap with lower quality caps. Thank you.
This is a dealer supplied cap. This would have the same thickness of seal that was included from the factory.
What is the part number for the pin and spring kit for this lock?
There is no single kit for this cylinder and cap. The 4 tumblers are #05257132AB, 05257133AB, 05257134AB, 05257135AB and the springs that are used #04746873
