Description
If you are the unfortunate victim of a broken axle Crown Automotive has a solution. The Crown Automotive Passenger Side Front Axle Shaft is a direct replacement for Wrangler YJ & TJ as well as the Cherokee XJ that do not have a disconnecting shaft due to a factory vacuum system or an aftermarket cable lock system. Designed for Non-ABS applications this axle has the same 27 inside and outside splines as factory axles, you will have no issue with original equipment differential lockers or hub assemblies. When servicing a damaged axle it is recommended to change the bearings and seals for longer life and a better fitment.

so this a solid 1 piece passenger side axel no cad. it says 2 pics in item note?
The Crown Automotive 4874302 Dana 30 Passenger Side Axle Shaft Assembly is indeed designed to be a solid, one-piece axle shaft that eliminates the need for the central axle disconnect (CAD) system.
These two pieces are joined by a U-joint, which is also typically included in the assembly. So, while it replaces the two-piece CAD axle with a system that transmits power directly, the assembly itself consists of these two shafts and the U-joint.
This is a common upgrade for YJ and XJ owners who want to eliminate the often problematic CAD system for more reliable 4WD engagement. When installing this, you would typically leave the vacuum actuator on the axle, but it would no longer serve a function. Some people choose to remove the actuator and install a block-off plate for a cleaner look.
