Crown Automotive Ignition Switch Actuator Pin Reviews
I purchased this for my 2001 Jeep TJ. The plastic housing did NOT fit into the case enclosure. I have to remove the core and use the core only in the stock plastic housing. Worked, but was mostly throw away. I purchased this as a set with the same MFG Swith and Key Cylinder.
This assembly did not fit nor work as the OEM part did. When installed it bound up when turning the key. To be fair, the Dorman part from O’Reilly’s did the same. I had to shuffle components the OEM and aftermarket assemblies for proper function. I still had to stand the ignition switch off 1/16 of an inch with two thin washers for proper function. I suspect molds for casting the plastic frame and/or metal shaft are incorrect; probably the plastic frame.
It got the job done, but i had to mix old parts and new. The new plastic part didn't seem to seat all the way into the opening. Too many manufacturing defects on it. So if you tightened it into place, the key wouldn't turn. I could've sanded it and filed it until it fit, but it was easier to use the old plastic part. So i ended up using the new metal part (that actuates the switch) with the old plastic part to get it to work.
