Swapped this and the ignition switch at the same time. Both worked great, 96 xj. Never had another issue starting. You need a specific tool to remove the steering wheel but it's an easy operation. Youtube will get you by. I liked that after I could just leave the ignition key in 24/7 and keep my old keys for the doors on me so I couldn't lock them in anymore
