Transmission Differences: It is not compatible with the earlier Tremec T150 3-speed manual transmission found in 1976–1979 Jeeps. The tower height, cap retention style, and internal components differ between the T150 and the later 4-speed top-cover designs, meaning you will need a dedicated repair kit specifically indexed for the T150 transmission.
