Does the "30A" in the description mean it's rated at 30 amps? I.e., can this be wired directly into the compressor's circuit or do I need to wire in a relay as well?
Yes that refers to 30 amps, and depending on the compressor that you are referring to you should be able to wire this directly into the circuit.
