I bought my winch from Quadratec so I thought I better get replacement cable from the same company
Good cable and hook. The only reason I had to replace the original is that it was kinked during a self-recovery. There were no broken strands but for the price it was worth playing it safe with a new one.
Remember guys, we get what we pay for. This is a very inexpensive cable in both cost to consumer and cost to manufacture. Course wire (stiff) lacks a mounting clip for Warn winches (any electrical, hardware or welding supply house will sell a couple of crimp on #2 AWG or 4/0 electrical cable eyelet) that adds another few bucks to the cost. Cable is rated for 12,000 pounds, winch is rated for 8,000 pounds, it should hold up to any and all loads. Still beats that $350 rope we only dream about.
