RockNob Timpanogos 6 Speed Gearshift Knob with Lizard Logo Reviews
Very unique
This is soooo cool, I wanted something unique and these are well vetted, fit great but perfect for my hand. A little cool on a chilly morning but its a jeep. I have the coolest shifter knob in town!
FANTASTIC shift knob -- i don't think i could find one i like more for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler! i got lucky in that mine came with a nice rock which is a bit more oblong than the one shown presently on this ad and it fits my hand perfectly and is very comfortable. 8-)
IMHO, RockNob ought to allow customers to have a more specific rock selection, as one gent apparently hated his so much he threw it into a river!
INSTALLATION: i didn't trust using the spacer included in the universal mounting kit as intended, and preferred to have the set screws go directly onto the metal stick. so i put the plastic spacer which best fit my stick up inside the rock and pressed the rock shift knob onto the shift stick until it crammed it all the way up to the end of the receiver inside the rock. i then pulled the rock shift head back off my stick shift to inspect, and noticed the plastic spacer cracked a slight bit on one edge but perceived it wouldn't matter. i then filled the plastic cap with Gorilla glue to ensure the fit would be extra solid, then put the rock back onto the stick shift and wiped off excess glue (which ran down over time), and screwed in the set screws so that they set against the metal stick. it's on there very solid! i then had to file off the sharp edging on the little bit of thread that stuck out from the two set screws on the curved side of the shift, as my fingers would catch on them occasionally. tip: search for a youtube video of how to remove the stock shift knob -- it's easy and only takes 5 seconds!
