Reviews for AMI Race Style Locking Billet Fuel Doors for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL
Great fit and add on for the 2021 Wrangler.
Love this product! It looks like it came OEM from the factory on my '19 Wrangler JL. Very easy to install and provides an extra level of security in foiling any attempts at stealing fuel.
just put it on. so easy looks killer works great nice and sturdy
It is as advertised. I really like having the fuel door lock. I am pleased with the way it looks. My installer ordered it for me and installed it perfectly.
good value
The door is of good quality, but it makes metal to painted metal contact at the outer edge of the OEM shroud. I have not installed it for that reason and am trying to figure a way to effectively protect the finish of the Jeep. (Applying silicone now to see if that's going to work.) I would suggest to the manufacturer that a pad be installed or included with the door to prevent damage.
Nice fit and easy to install HOWEVER the cheap cam lock is rather dissapointing!!!!The key code CH751 fits 90% of all RV access doors manufactured. The same door I installed on my JK had a nice barrel key.
If you have a 2020 Wrangler Rubicon, this door will not fit over the existing aluminum (stock OEM) door. You have to remove the OEM door, buy a replacement plastic filler cone ($13, plus $10 shipping) and remove the OEM aluminum door, install the replacement cone - then you can install the AMI locking door.
It says this in tiny print in the instruction sheet - now you know that you can order the replacement cone same time as you order this door (which took over two weeks to arrive).
Supposed to come with 6 screws, came with 5. Have tried to contact the vendor in every way possible to get the 6th screw, but they are non-responsive. Too late to return to Quadratec, need to probably get busy on the internet to find 6 screws that will work.
Unless there is a clear constant threat of someone stealing your gas, and your budget does not allow for more convenient options, stay clear of this. The lock mechanism is extremely low quality (mine broke and rendered the jeep incapable of being gassed up until I just removed the whole unit). So super low quality, unreliable lock that WILL leave you stranded unless you have the bit to remove the screws to remove the whole unit. Needing the extra key to open the gas door and thus requiring your key ring to be unusable while you fuel up is a drag too.
