This receiver works perfect. My daughter was given this for a b-day present from her boyfriend and I bought the install kit. I would definitely spend the extra money on the install kit as it comes with the proper DIN and the steering wheel controls so you can still use the buttons on the steering wheel to control volume, etc. Previous to this my daughter had the Alpine PSS 22-WRA system in her Jeep. I read a bunch of reviews where people were having trouble getting this to work with this receiver. I did not have any problems getting the two to work together. You have to use the RCA cable connectors that come with the 22-WRA kit though, so don't throw those out. After following the directions on the 22-WRA kit for the last type of install they have listed, it worked flawlessly. We paired this with the reverse camera from Alpine as well, and she's very pleased.

Easy install with the provided installation kit it is necessary to cut a portion of the factory – plastic that will be hidden once the radio is installed. Factory steering wheel controls are retained also we'll sense when the car is in reverse for an easy reverse camera installation without flashing ECU. The radio doesn't dim automatically when the headlights are turned on it dims through a light sensor noticing the time of day built into the dash.

Love it ! The only reason it took an hour, is I spent 30 minutes looking for a 7mm ! lol Great improvement, very loud!
Buy then installation kit, you won’t be sorry!!!!

Huge improvement over the terrible Uconnect system. Quality of life greatly improved with Car Play. No more fiddling with the phone cradle and cleaned the dash look right up.

Performance with my upgraded alpine speakers w/ sub is much better than stock (and it sounded great before).

The interface is slick and easy to use.

HIGHLY recommend paying extra for the plug and play harness - I had this thing up and running in 30 minutes. Make sure to use the included USB (the one with the right angle connector) if you want to use car play or android auto. I ran it down to the bottom of the console and use that little lip to hold the phone next to drivers right leg.

Installation instructions were easy to follow. Receiver is a huge improvement over stock unit.

Personal Review: Unit looks great and sounds amazing. This really was a quality of life improvement I needed.

I had it installed by Best Buy (free with their total tech support subscription) and the installer said he does about 30 of these a month and everyone loves them. He also said this about the lowest priced quality Apple CarPlay unit on the market.

I never knew my factory stereo sucked until I replaced it with this unit. Easy to install and the sound is incredible. Only one complaint ( hence four stars) is that I was disappointed I couldn’t use Apple Car Play wirelessly. U have to install the USB cable provided with the stereo and physically connect your phone.

Apply Play and works with my JK controls.

Incredibly easy install, though unlocking the setup menus was a bit of a faff. Have to pump the e-brake twice and leave it on the second pull, then you're able to connect bluetooth, modify advanced settings, etc.
