What exactly is a steel premium hood? I have a 2025 “Nighthawk” Gladiator. If the hood silencer does work, how many pins are required?

The Mopar Hood Silencer Pad (68292167AD) is designed for specific hood configurations. To determine if it works for your 2025 Gladiator Nighthawk, you first need to identify your hood type.
What is a "Premium Steel Hood"?
In the Jeep lineup (JL/JT), there are two primary hood materials. The Standard Hood is made of lightweight aluminum. The Premium Steel Hood (often referred to as the "Performance" or "Power Dome" hood) is found on trims like the Rubicon, Mojave, and certain Special Editions. It is heavier, more dent-resistant, and often features functional or decorative vents.
Nighthawk Compatibility: The 2025 Nighthawk is based on the Sport S trim. Most Sport S models come with the standard aluminum hood, which uses a different silencer pad or no pad at all. However, you can verify this easily: if a magnet sticks to your hood, it is steel; if it doesn't, it is aluminum.
Passive Pedestrian Warning: This refers to specific hood hinges and crumple zones designed to absorb impact. This pad is molded to clear those specific internal mechanical components.
Installation & Pin Requirements
Pin Count: This pad requires 11 push pins to be fully secured to the underside of the hood.
Pin Part Number: The compatible Mopar push pin is 6508863AA. These are sold separately from the pad itself.

Is this premium over the factory installed one or just a replacement?

It is factory original to Jeeps equipped with the Premium steel hood. It would not be designed for other model hoods as a premium silencer. Sorry for any confusion. Thanks for your inquiry.

Does it come with the push pins to attach?

No, it does not. They are sold separately. See the following link. Hood Silencer Push Pin. Thanks for your inquiry.

Will this fit the jl wrangler unlimited rubicon?

No, this is not for the Rubicon vented hood. See the following link for a silencer intended for the vented hood.
