What is a "Premium Steel Hood"?

The Premium Steel Hood (often referred to as the "Performance" or "Power Dome" hood) is found on trims like the Rubicon, Mojave, and certain Special Editions. It is heavier, more dent-resistant, and often features functional or decorative vents.
Nighthawk Compatibility: The 2025 Nighthawk is based on the Sport S trim. Most Sport S models come with the standard aluminum hood, which uses a different silencer pad or no pad at all. However, you can verify this easily: if a magnet sticks to your hood, it is steel; if it doesn't, it is aluminum.
Passive Pedestrian Warning: This refers to specific hood hinges and crumple zones designed to absorb impact. This pad is molded to clear those specific internal mechanical components.
Installation & Pin Requirements
Pin Count: This pad requires 11 push pins to be fully secured to the underside of the hood.

Is this premium over the factory installed one or just a replacement?
It is factory original to Jeeps equipped with the Premium steel hood. It would not be designed for other model hoods as a premium silencer. Sorry for any confusion. Thanks for your inquiry.
