Reviews for ARB Competition Differential Cover for Dana 44 Axle Assemblies
Good, heavy and easy installation. Installed on my 2005 Rubicon and they look great.
They are good for what the are made for but the ARB letters and starting to rust up after being hit on rocks and stuff. Thought the color would hold up better but overall would purchase again if Red was what I was looking for.
This is a new model of cover from the one several years ago. It doesn't match the picture on the Quadratec site (Which is a picture of the previous version).
I had the previous version and everything fit perfectly. I was only replacing it because it was very corroded from the street de-icer they use in Colorado.
I thought it was the wrong product and I was starting the process to send it back.... until I looked at the customer photos and realized ARB had changed the design (Note the bolt hole design and the drain plug position). They also changed the placement of the drain plug so it bumps up against the inside edge of the differential housing when screwing into place, which is my entire complaint. It has to be cranked extremely tight (smashing metal on metal) in order to seal. I shouldn't have to take an angle grinder and remove material from the inside edge of the diff-housing in order to screw the drain plug in on the cover (Stock differential housing, no damage, 2012 JK).
I would give the old/previous version 5 stars. Not this one.
Thank goodness for the 5-Star Lubelocker re-usable gasket! I would have given up on this if I had to keep taking the cover on and off with silicone gasket maker smeared everywhere, just trying to figure out what was up with this cover.

ARB needs to update the product pictures, and better yet, raise the drain plug-hole (like it was before) so the plug properly threads in without contact. Boooo ARB, I expected better from you.
