Reviews for Bushwacker HyperForm Fender Flares for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL
The instructions to install these things are awful. They feel like they were written as an afterthought. Including items in the installation that come in later but would have been easier to accomplish at an earlier point in the installation. The turn signals come with a resistor but the instructions do not cover how, where or when to install it.
The gap around the lights isn't ideal but not too bad.
The instructions say you can use your factory inner fenders and instruct you on how to cut them. I am not sure if the front inners vary between the Rubicon and Sport, but if you have a JLU Sport I would recommend buying after-market inners while you are at it. You won't like the look or function of your factory inners after cutting them, trust me.
All the blockers aside, these flares look great and the addition of the sequential turn signal is a nice addition. Just plan on spending some time installing these or have them done professionally.
I ordered these fenders in February (order#W34267260101) to replace a cracked factory fender and just now got around to installing them. Quality looks and feels cheap. Fit of the fender itself is excellent. I expected to use the factory inner fender liners as advertised, but the way Bushwacker made the factory liners fit the fenders looks and functions absolutely terrible. They provide no means to fasten the lower rear portion of the liner to the body or fender, so it just hangs there. The gap between the top of the fender and the factory liner makes it look hokey and leaves plenty of room for road debris to enter your engine compartment. The wiring for the lights is junk and not sealed at all. For their cost, these fenders are thoroughly disappointing and I'll be replacing them with something better. An expensive lesson learned indeed.
Very Disappointed in this purchase. Bushwacker really needs to go back to the drawing board with this one. Biggest complaint is with the front, lower backside has a bracket mounted separately from the fender and is supposed to be held together with some supplied two sided tape and adhesive promoter that did not hold so the fender just flaps around in the wind. I removed the old tape and replaced with the best 3m that I could find (still doesn’t hold) then I applied a generous amount of JB weld and it still flaps around. This bracket should be built onto the fender somehow. There is a significant gap around the air vent with un-used factory holes nearby that could easily pull it in a little tighter. The factory mounting brackets are not used at all, a redesign could utilize them to firm things up a bit as well. They look really good when the jeep is parked!!! The best part is the DRL lights. Mounting bracket for them is nice and mounts in place firmly. As I said before . Very disappointed and I will
Be replacing these as soon as possible.
I was driving down the road when a gust of wind snapped front passenger fender in half. The sun softened the double stick tape holding the fender to the mount. Not to happy I have to buy all four fenders to replace one.
Horrible fender flares, would highly recommend you not buy this product. Flare came off while driving on the highway doing 70 mph. Felt very flimsy while installing. Waste of money.
