Reviews for Quadratec Tailgate Table for 07-24 Jeep Wrangler JK & JL
This table is amazing. For our 2022 wrangler it was the easiest installation I have ever done
Will aid in camping
Received the table just a few days ago and got it installed. Only took 15-20 minutes to install on our 2024 Jeep Wrangler. My girlfriend wanted to learn how to install it (it's her jeep) and was fairly easy. We used a 1/2 step bit for drilling the required holes, which in hindsight, a normal drill bit might have been a bit easier. Once the holes were drilled, getting the table mounted onto the rear door was a bit of a challenge as the holes of the table did not perfectly align with mounting holes of the door. This could have been from the holes not drilled perfectly causing the misalignment, but we made it work just fine without redrilling. Once the table was installed, the latches worked fine but they felt a tiny bit loose and we were worried about the noise that might come from it. She drove the Jeep the next day only to listen to a rattle from the table. To fix the noise I stuck some furniture pads on the provided rubber bumpers which caused for a very tight fit and eliminated 90% of the rattle.
To bring this from a 4-5 star, the provided bumpers should be 1/8-1/4" taller to tighten up the latches, add nylon/rubber pieces around the bolts that hold the cables between the top and bottom pieces.
All that being said, the rest of the table is very well made, the finish on the table is great, and the provided instructions were very clear and easy to follow. We're excited to use the table on our adventures!
The table is nice, quaint, simple, and well designed and I can see it being used so much in the years to come.
BUT
quadratec must update its instructions. When you have a JK as I do (long live my 08) you are required to drill for rivets. They tell you to use a 3/8s bit for the rivets they provide but it won't work. You need a 13/32 or 7/16. 3/8 is too tight. Also they say at end to use the shorter bolts to "attach the table bottom to the frame". Nope, you use the longer ones otherwise they won't thread. May be a typo but needs to be changed to not confuse people who want to follow the instructions. So, good product with nice design and features, but instructions need improvement
Double shelves
Multifunctional.
Install was a breeze. I would have gave this product a 5 star if it wasn’t for the rattling. Seems like it’s a matter of quality control. Latches aren’t tight enough to give it a tight secured fit. I ended up buying small squared furniture silencers and put them on top of the existing pads it came with. It added a little more padding. It latches closed extra tight now. Other than that great buy.
Complete installation in my JLU 4xe, no issues with installation. 4/5 due to item damage to lower bracket rivets. I repaired and complete the install with no issues.
Like the extra features.. However in the discription it states holds up to 50 lbs the manual states 25 lbs. Brought attention to the online chat said they would get back to me ( haven't heard a word) table also rattles so have to stuff a roll of towels in the shelf portion to keep it from rattling . Giving this 3 stars cause lack of comunication and the rattle.
As far as tailgate tables go, this is probably the most well designed one I've seen. The install uses factory mounting points, and is super simple to do in under an hour. The storage bin and molle panels are a great use of the space for when you're not using the table (which is most of the time).
The downside? Even with the rubber pads behind the table, it still rattles like absolute crazy. I've snugged all the hardware I can find, double checked the mounting screws, and it still sounds like a bunch of coins rattling around in a coffee can all the time. I suspect it's the area near the base where the plastic spacers are (near the hinge) - there's a fair amount of play in those spacers, and it's the only thing I can find that's even remotely loose.
If you want a good table, this rocks. If you want a quiet table, good luck.
