I'm looking to purchase this head unit for my 2013 JKU Rubicon with the factory subwoofer. I'd also like to buy the Quadratic back up camera kit for a JK spare tire to go with it. I just wanted to make sure the camera would be compatible with this head unit and also I wanted to make sure I get everything I need for all of my steering wheel controls to work and everything to be plug and play. The Alpine iLX-W670 is compatible with the Quadratec Spare Tire Backup Camera. The Alpine iLX-W670 bundle (select w/installation kit from the drop-down menu) is designed to be a "ready-to-install" package that includes the interface module, steering wheel control, antenna adapter, dash kit, and the necessary wiring for your factory amplifier.

Does this fit without modification in a 97-01 XJ single din slot?
No, the Alpine iLX-W670 will not fit in a 1997–2001 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) without significant modification.
Compatibility Issues
Your 1997–2001 Jeep Cherokee comes from the factory with a Single-DIN (2-inch tall) radio slot. The Alpine iLX-W670 is a Double-DIN (4-inch tall) receiver.
Dash Cutting Required: To install this unit, you would have to physically cut the plastic sub-dash and the radio bezel of your XJ to create enough vertical space.
Bezel Modification: You would also need an aftermarket Double-DIN dash kit, which typically requires moving or modifying the factory AC vents and controls.
Depth Advantage: The only "easier" part is that the iLX-W670 has a shallow chassis design. This makes it easier to tuck wires behind it once the dash is cut, but it does not solve the height problem.

Does the trim come with this Alpine Head Unit? I have a 16 JK Hard Rock.
Yes, when you purchase it with the installation kit. When purchasing the radio by itself, it will not include the trim.

The Alpine ILX-W670 head unit is not waterproof.

You will need the installation kit if this is the first time changing the stereo. Other than that, trim removal tools would be helpful, but nothing else is necessary.
