The previous version did not allow for grab handles. Does this version allow for grab bars/handles?
No, the GenII model does not allow for clearance to install an a-pillar handle.

I have a 4 door JK. I have grab bars installed at my windshield. There is some clearance there, but I'm not sure if it's enough. I remember that there was a Q&A on the Gen1 where you stated grab bars could not fit with this light bar in a JK. Where the dimensions changed at all on this model? The picture looks like they tapper in a lot at the ends. Is it possible to get a measurement of the thickness of the light bar on the ends of the part?
A pillar grab handles do not fit with the Gen II either; sorry for the inconvenience.

Is this item compatible with Grab Bars on a JK? Or do the Grab Bars need to be removed for install?
The grab handles on the A-pillar will need to be removed.
