Reviews for Pacesetter 324082 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter for 07-09 Jeep Wrangler JK with 3.8L
Good product
This is an easy install after a somewhat difficult removal of the factory y-pipe. I had 220,000 on my factory cats, and 2 of them were clogged. This gave me a lot of power back. I am not saying my JK is fast, but it has a lot more power. I would recommend this product.
Quick Simple install. Installed it on a Friday did emissions Saturday morning successfully. Ensure to support the transmission when you remove the support beam. It took me about two and a half hours.
Well, I'm not experienced with this type of work, so after screwing around with it, I finally got the old one out, and it took me two days to deal with the whole process. It's not fun, but I learned a few things.
All in all- not a bad Cat set up for the money. After getting everything installed and fired up for the first time, it was discovered that the driver's side Cat was not fully welded on the outlet side, only tacked in place. Certainly not big concern as I can get it welded up, but not the best QC.
Fast delivery, ordered Monday received Tuesday. Only problem I had was had to cut about half an inch off passenger side crossover pipe to get clearance between downstream cat and frame rail. Would have preferred band clamp instead of u-bolt clamp.
Fitment was perfect, welds were kinda ugly. 2-piece design made installation pretty easy. Removing the original part was harder. Came with a u-bolt style clamp like you'd find at any auto parts store. I purchased a band style clamp instead.
seams fair quality , BUT , glad ,i decided to have a shop put it on. the driver side did not fit , the bend had to be cut and twist and reweld.i have a JK 2008
Finally able to do installation (free time) and the driver side doesn't match up at all. Not very happy ,wasn't looking to having to get this product modified to fit seeing as how it states direct fit. Not sure if it was direct fit for 09-10 but does not fit direct for an 08.
