Reviews for Bestop Sunrider for Hardtop for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Great quality top, would have been 5 stars but the bolts are just too short! If they were 1/4 inch longer everything would have been perfect. I ended up going to the hardware store and buying longer bolts, after that I was finished in no time.
Hi , just for purchase information. I bought the twill sunrider, mine leaks in two locations while going thru touch less carwash. It is however very convenient and we decided to keep it. For the cost we would expect a water tight design. If anyone has any suggestions to help prevent leaks I would appreciate it .
Solid product. Performs very well so far. Very convenient and practical. No water leaks.
Gave it 4 stars as installation with the alignment of bolts can tricky + a little more than expected vibration of the twill at very high highway speeds (expected some). but still would go w/this product if one was looking for something like this.
Kind of a pain to install, but *so* much easier to open than removing and stowing the freedom tops. Getting everything aligned right and getting all of the screws in was much more difficult than I'd expected.
I love the top! This is what Jeep should have done instead of the freedom panels. Now I no longer have to find a place to store them in the Jeep, along with room for other things, just flip back and I still have storage room!
I experienced only two problems. First was with the installation, one of the welded nuts wasn't threaded properly, I just retapped the nut and everything went well.
The second issue was with QT. When I purchased the top they were offering a $100 QT rebate. The rebate is no longer on their site, I never received it, and (since I didn't have any screenshots to prove it) they deny the rebate existed.
I find it very nice. Went on little difficult but once it goes on, it looks nice. Just a little noisy (have a hard top) definitely need to get used to it if you are first time installing it.
Not to hard an install love the top and not leaks. Like being able to open the top and not have to mess with storing the freedom panels.
Happy with this purchase. So nice to have the ease of flipping the top back rather than having to take off the freedom tops and store in the back. Installation took about an hour.
This is a great product.
I have had my JKU for 5 years now, and even though I own a soft top, have only used it once. The issue with it is getting the hard top off, and what to do with it when it's off. The other issue is the way the OEM soft top folds back behind the sound bar. (My back seat rider complained that it sagged in his face.) The Sunrider doesn't have this issue. While the Freedom tops give the same effect, they are slower to remove, and again you have to find a place for them.
The Sunrider is fast to open, and quiet enough to be on full time for me. We will have to see how it does in the rain, however since my Jeep lives in the garage, I don't see a problem.
Installation is relatively easy. You do want to watch both videos from Bestop, and pay attention to the rubber strip on the back and how it's supposed to lay on the hard top. Also getting the holes for the Torx bolt that comes from the underside is a bit tricky to get lined up, but other than that it was a simple install.
Easy to use... great if you get stuck in traffic.. Second install and now it leaks...
NO REPAIR KITS and I do not see any replacement screws for the one that is now stripped... the leak is on the other side.
Went and put it on again.. still leaks...
