Reviews for Pavement Ends Sprint Top Soft Top for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Solid top. I’m in Jersey, though the winter has been mild this year, the top holds the heat like a factory top. It’s a bit noisier but my radio goes to 11...it’s been installed for about 6 months and with little care, it still looks new. There are some specific measurements in the install guide that I beat myself up about but after install, I noticed that there is definitely a bit of room for error. Espically when it comes to the drill bit size. Fits great...recommend A+
It has been a great product so far. the windows are large and are an improvement in visibility. The "sun roof" option completely opens the front seat and is a good middle ground between being fully buttoned up and taking the windows off and folding the full top back. Much faster. Haven't had it very long but so very extremely pleased. We had it installed primarily because of transferring our old header to new top but you could probably do it yourself. Definitely recommend.
So I have mixed feelings about this top. Quality of the materials and directions were excellent. My issue is with the straps that secure the top to the rear body panels. I broke one of the straps while trying to stretch the top back to get the back window in place, and it looks like the stitches were the weak point. Hopefully I can get a replacement under the warranty but if not it should be a fairly easy fix. Other than that everything installed ok, probably should have let the windows and top sit in the sun a bit longer to warm up more. You’ll definitely want to get the fabric warm and loose before install. I love the flip back top, still get that open feel without having to remove the windows and pull the whole top down. I’ll submit more photos later.
This is(soon to be was) a great top. the ability to convert from a top to a large sunroof over the front seats is great. It's an easy install. The problem with mine is that the fabric where the pieces connect to the door surrounds began to rip where the top folds over. It finally separated about 10 inches down the drivers side. My top is 3 years and 9 months old. I called Bestop and they informed me that the top has been discontinued and there is no way to buy just a replacement fabric for the top. I can't count the number of times people came up and asked me who made it and where I got it. If you can pick one up here before they sell out, do it.
For the most part it's a nice product. Only issue I have is that it hold a significant amount of water between the windshield and middle roll bar after a rainstorm. I installed as directed but I may need to tweak it some to find a solution for the issue
The top it's self seems ok so far. Except the fact that the strap on the back passenger side was poorly sewed together and will not make it even one trip without the windows. I'm highly disappointed since I'm a home health nurse I will have to repair the top myself vs being able to return it. I have to have my Jeep to get to people in the country and can't do without it.
Once you get all the pc's on you will be afraid to take any of them off. Not a one person job. The center off the roof never stops flapping on the roll bar. Not velcro parts meet where they should and it looks like I made it myself.
