Reviews for GraBars Grab Handle Sets for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited
Great product! High quality steel. Look good, feel good, solid grip. The factory holes on the A pillar may not be perfectly in line, so you may need to follow the instructions to get them lined up. Instead of grabbing the seat or steering wheel when you are climbing in your rig, this is the way to go. I highly recommend them.
They are not plug & play items. It took me approximately one hour to install both handles in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. With a little patience you'll get them to fit, They are by far the best handles I have ever installed. I used the nylon straps on both of my Jeep Wranglers and are a total wast of money. I would definitely recommend these handles! You can practically hang on them, solid as can be, great!
I have a pair of these on my 2013 JK and I love them! They are really sturdy and make getting in and out a lot easier, and they look awesome too. Installation was extremely easy. It took me maybe 20 minutes to get both of them in. I would recommend these for every Wrangler owner.
I bought Grab bars after seeing some at a club gathering. I had originally bought much cheaper ones that looked the same, but they vibrated and the rubber grip would "slip" around on the handle - they got all chipped up really fast too. These GraBars are much beefier and nice looking. Unlike the other review on here, these GraBars installed perfectly on both my 2016 Rubicon and my wife's 2008 JKU - took maybe 1 hour total for both rigs. You won't be disappointed! An upgrade you'll use everyday.
Look sturdy, pricing and able to change handles.
Nice handles only problem is mounting bolts have started rusting in a year.
Great Product! Love Them!
good quality stuff
Like others have said. RH side on in 5 minutes no problem. LH side was a bitch and ended up having to tap threads and buy replacement bolt in order to get it installed. Once on though they are a great addition!
Just installed a 2 door set, and a 4 door set - took way, way longer than it should have. Grabars could make all of this easier on everyone if they simply provided better bolts. The bolts are threaded all the way to the end, which they should not be. That sets folks up for a lot of frustration and potential cross-threading.
The back set of the 4 door version is very simple - no problem.
For the front set, I stuffed a paper towel behind the plastic of the A pillar before removing those side bolts. Once I had the original bolts loosened, I removed the wrench from the back of the socket and attached one of my shop magnets to the socket. I then backed the bolts out with no problem since the magnet held the bolts.
Aligning the new set is tedious, and made harder due to the poorly designed bolts supplied. To make the alignment easier, use a sharpened pencil to align the bars and the spacers before inserting the bolts. That will center the spacers and the bar, and provide the correct angle to install the bolts. You still have to farkle with getting the threads started, but that should make it easier until Grabars decides to better engineer their product.
I kept hearing creaking and popping in one front set, but I think that is due to the Jeep's metal along the A pillar touching the bolt. I fixed that by back backing out the top bolt, and adding a washer to the keep the bar down just a bit when fully tightened - no more creaking and popping.
Great product, but can't them a full row of stars due to installation hardware issue.
